Realise the Potential of Data to Drive Business Outcomes

The effective application of data science is proven to positively impact business outcomes but it is often the preserve of a few big companies in technology and digital sectors.

The Knowledge Ladder is committed to delivering affordable, accessible, agile  data analytics and data science benefits to all firms regardless of sector, size, turnover or experience.

Data Dashboards and Visualisation

The data that firms already generate can be linked to external data sources to provide highly visual, real-time insights into the key metrics that impact business performance

Geographical Modelling

Many aspects of business including customer behaviour, supply and demand can be shown on maps and dashboards to instantly visualise key aspects of business performance.

Machine Learning and Predictive Analytics

It sounds like science fiction but with the right expertise data from the past can be use to make reliable predictions about what your customers and other stakeholders are likely to do in the future and knowing what is likely to happen can put organisations ahead of the competition.

Leadership Development

Focussed and intense 1-2 day leadership workshops can rapidly upskill and empower leaders and managers with the key concepts and skills needed to ensure their organisations get the most from their data

Our mission: to deliver affordable, accessible, agile data analytics and data science to all organisations regardless of sector, size, turnover or experience

A respected report from Wegener & Sinha showed that organisations that leverage data analytics are twice as likely to be in the top quartile of financial performers and another from McKinsey & Company showed that these "data mature" firms increase pre-tax profits by 20%.

But whilst there is a lot of evidence showing the positive impact data analytics and data science can have there are still many sectors and organisations who are not embracing the data revolution for many different reasons.

In fact only 20% of all employees said they felt confident working with data and half of all employees stated they tended to rely on gut-feel in decision making rather than evidence-driven insights.

The Knowledge Ladder strongly believes that barriers to adopting and leveraging data analytics and data science can and must be swept aside to enable equitable access to technologies and approaches that can make a real difference to organisational impact and outcomes.

The Potential of Big Data

Volume

4 billion video-hours are generated on YouTube every month, 400 million tweets are created every day, and 30 billion posts are shared on Facebook every month.

Velocity

Companies make decisions every few seconds on whether to purchase Google AdWords campaigns during Champions League matches. By the end of the match that data has no further relevance or value.

Variety

YouTube Videos, Instagram Images, Facebook posts, Tweets, GPS co-ordinates generated by smart-phones and data generated by sensors inside turbine engines are all examples of variety.

Veracity

Web site logs, smart phone records, and data captured from sensors and wearable devices will have high accuracy when compared to users keying data into traditional data processing systems.

Value

Value refers to the ability to build or transform a business based on data and the opposite where firms that ignore big data can lose value relative to their competitors.
